Reviews

3 Review quotes:

"I feel like we don’t have enough space to study inside the dental school; we have a student lounge in the dental school, which is very small, but we do not have a study area, and we do not have a library."
"The best things about attending University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine is that the school wants you to succeed and works to accommodate students in every way possible."
"I wish Pitt had more opportunities to get involved in activities outside of and apart from dentistry."

What are the best things about attending University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine?

The best thing about attending University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine is that the school wants you to succeed and works to accommodate students in every way possible. Because we are more than just students, there may be times that our personal schedule does not fit with the academic schedule. In these instances, Pitt cooperates with your schedule so you can make up exams, rotations, quizzes, etc. Dental school (and practicing dentistry itself) can be very stressful and emotional. The professors at Pitt do their best to remind you that grades and percentages aren’t the be-all and end-all. They instill a mentality focused on growing, learning and improving.

What are the worst things about attending University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine?

One downside about attending Pitt is that there is still a lack of diversity of students, which can make others feel left out if they are from a different background (a certain economic social status is more common than others). There have also been some scheduling issues due to teachers failing to communicate with one another, like having back-to-back days with two tests per day.

What do students need to know/what do you wish you knew before attending University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine?

Before attending, I wish I knew how the grading system worked at each school. There are some schools that have pass/fail curricula, but Pitt has a letter grade system which can get stressful since you want the most points you can get.
