"We have high clinical requirements, but they are so high it can be hard to find enough patients to fill them."
"Our attendance policy is quite strict. During the preclinical years (D1 and D2), all classes are mandatory, even for lectures that are recorded."
"We also go on a 6-week rural rotation during our 4th year which allows us to work in a private practice doing procedures and gaining even more experience."

What are the best things about attending West Virginia University School of Dentistry?

One of the biggest advantages of attending WVU is its well-known reputation for creating good clinicians. Our graduation requirements for clinical cases are higher in comparison to other schools, which allows students to get tons of experience with treating all types of cases: caries, perio, extractions, and fixed/removable prosthodontics. We also go on a 6-week rural rotation during our 4th year which allows us to work in a private practice doing procedures and gaining even more experience. Our 3rd year students also have an opportunity to travel to Guatemala to treat patients which provides an excellent clinical (and life) experience.
