Reviews

3 Review quotes:

"One of the great things that came with this curriculum change is that all the didactic lectures are now integrated across all biomedical science courses by using a systems-based approach." The long- term goal for this new curriculum is that by the end of D1 year we are at the level of a registered dental assistant and by the end of second year we are at the level of a registered dental hygienist."

What are the worst things about attending Loma Linda University School of Dentistry?

With the quarter system, everything is fast-paced. Sometimes we have quizzes and tests every day of the week and it can get overwhelming. We are also taking a lot more classes because of the new curriculum (for example: traditionally, microbiology isn’t taken until spring quarter of D1, radiology isn’t taken until D2, and we wouldn’t be in clinic until D3). Though these classes are helpful, they are taking up more of our studying time.

What do students need to know/what do you wish you knew before attending Loma Linda University School of Dentistry?

Since LLUSD is a private Christian university, there is mandatory one hour chapel time. Chapel runs from 11am – 12pm every Wednesday of your D1 and D2 year, as well as every day of the week for one full week in each quarter. It’s the only time the whole school comes together in one place.
