What are the best things about attending University of Louisville School of Dentistry?
The Faculty. I think the faculty at ULSD are great, especially if you get to know them on a personal level. Getting to know them on a personal level allows you to ask them for letters of recommendation one day. They really are willing to help and they want you to succeed. They are very nice and most of them will not make you feel stupid when you are struggling with certain concepts. When they are not in their office they are often in the clinic and you can go show your projects to them and get feedback. If you ever get a grade that you disagree with, they are very open at having another faculty member grade your project, which is huge if you care about your GPA. All that being said, they still have their individual and collective issues (see next section).

What are the worst things about attending University of Louisville School of Dentistry?
The grading scheme isn't always based on a ten-point scale and changes every year based on student performance. For example, for our year an "A" was between 93-100%, "B" was between 84-92%, and "C" was between 75-83%. This can be tough to get used to and can be disappointing when you score a 92% only to receive a B grade. The outside of the building looks like a parking lot and the school is in a pretty ghetto area. It is also not in the safest area.

What do students need to know/What do you wish you knew before attending University of Louisville School of Dentistry?
Starting with the class of 2024 they will start a block system, meaning you will not have completely separate courses teaching you anatomy and physiology. Instead, you will work in blocks; for example, in the cardiology block you will simultaneously learn the anatomy and the physiology of the heart.
