3 Review quotes:
What are the best things about attending Rutgers School of Dental Medicine?
At Rutgers there are about 90-100 students per class, meaning you know everyone and everyone knows you. Not only do students get to know one another very well, but faculty take the time to get to know each one of their students, making this school a very close-knit environment. Most faculty are always willing to help and will take the time to make sure students understand what they are doing and some faculty even stay after hours to help students practice for practicals or catch up on any assignments.

What are the worst things about attending Rutgers School of Dental Medicine?
Unlike some other schools, Rutgers is not pass/fail and students are ranked, making it quite stressful. The exam schedules can be brutal for the first two years and getting exam dates changed by administration is not an easy process. There may be weeks with 2-3 exams in a row, so the spacing of exams is rarely ideal. Our administration is very reluctant to change school policies. The handbook used is outdated, and old policies are still followed even though they are not relevant to the current styles of learning teaching. If and when changes are made, the process is very slow and takes months for students to bring up their concerns to administration and have them properly addressed.

What do students need to know/what do you wish you knew before attending Rutgers Dental School?
Rutgers is not easy; the course and exam schedules are extremely rigorous for the first two years, so it is important to take it one day at a time and not stress for what is to come. Don’t compare yourself to other students. Everyone learns and works in different ways and it is important to find what works for you even if it takes a lot of trial and error.
